Dress shopping should be fun, not stressful! Finding the perfect wedding dress is one of the most exciting moments for many brides between the proposal and the wedding. And sometimes, it gets built up so much that it doesn't become a joyful moment, but a stressful one. Each bride dreams of finding "the one," and of having it be as beautiful and perfect as she has always imagined. However, how is she supposed to relax enough to enjoy this experience when so much is at stake?!
We know it's a big decision, and it's not always easy to relax. To make your bridal appointment run smoothly, we've compiled three tips to help you make the most of your special day.

Limit Your Guest Count
When it comes to choosing your wedding dress shopping entourage, things can get a little dicey. Some brides have a lot of pressure put on them from friends and family members to invite certain people that they may not necessarily want to be involved in this experience. In some scenarios, brides have SO many people they want to bring that they can’t seem to narrow it down! Whatever the case might be, we strongly encourage you to keep your guest count as low as possible. While our team at Ella Blu is flexible and willing to accommodate several guests, it truly makes things so much easier if you only bring along 2-3 guests. The thing is, the more people you bring along, the more opinions you have to listen to. You should bring a couple of close friends or family members who will respect your wishes, your boundaries, and offer positive feedback that won’t make this experience a stressful one!
Shop Early!
Because it can take months to receive your wedding dress, it’s always best to shop early! We recommend shopping at least 10-12 months prior to your wedding date. That might seem like it’s too far in advance, but trust us - this is the sweet spot! It allows for plenty of time for fittings and alterations before your wedding day. After all, you’ll probably end up needing at least 3 fittings to get everything just right. Make sure you ask your bridal consultant to double-check how long it will take for your dress to come in just to make sure you understand what the timeline looks like.
Come In With An Open Mind
It’s definitely helpful to have an idea of what style of wedding gown you’re looking for, but you should absolutely come in with an open mind and a willingness to try on all sorts of silhouettes! Wedding dresses are all about an emotion and feeling that you get when you try them on. And who knows, you might think that a mermaid silhouette isn’t for you and then try one on that steals your heart! We want you to really immerse yourself in the experience and enjoy it, since you'll only have it once!
We hope that these tips help you as you prepare for your bridal appointment! Again, this experience is supposed to be as fun as possible, so we encourage you to take our advice to heart and ask us as many questions as you want before, during, and after your appointment with us. And if you haven’t booked your appointment yet, what are you waiting for? Book here now!
